studio sibling is Timo Tembuyser (1991, Belgium) (he/they) and Hélène Vrijdag (1996, France) (she/her).
studio sibling is a Rotterdam/Antwerp based vocal performance company. They combine their common training at the Performance Department of the Academy of Performative Arts in Maastricht with Timo's degrees in Architecture (Ghent University) and Music Theatre (Fontys Conservatory Tilburg) and Hélène's degree in Gender Studies (Utrecht University). Next to these academic backgrounds, they work from and with experiences in community work, honoring shared values as pleasure activism and radical care.
studio sibling is a music based atelier where all these different expertises combine fluidly into live art. They make genre-bending and gender-bending vocal performances that explore and rebel against existing music genres such as opera, hyperpop, choir concert and musical theatre. Besides building a repertoire of songs and performances, studio sibling develops a queer and feminist voice and creative method, which they share in coachings and workshops.
